In a frightening wave of violence in schools in Germany, several participants in two different schools came into serious disputes. Last Friday, a brawl exposed in Hilpoltstein, south of Nuremberg that a dispute between students escalated and two teachers injured. A total of seven students and the two teachers were slightly injured in this incident, while the police have initiated the youth for intentional bodily harm.

A similarly serious incident occurred at a high school in Neukölln, where a teacher and two students were involved in a violent conflict, triggered by a Palestine flag. This led to a physical exchange of blows in which the teacher slapped the student after he first put a head kick. In the subsequent discussion, the student entered the 61-year-old teacher and made the situation further into the headlines. The teacher is now on sick leave, while the students were suspended until the events were clarified. The police accepted mutual criminal charges for assault and initiated the investigation.

Both incidents throw a worrying light on increasing violence in schools, which apparently assumed both students and teachers. In Neukölln, the parent representative is planning a rally against racism and violence, which, however, was banned by the police as a security measure. The school management has already initiated reactions by addressing the incidents in class and focusing on discussions with the students concerned and their parents. Security forces now also patrol on the school premises to prevent further flames from violence.
