Bad Oldesloe. This year there are an incredible 270 children who have captured their heart's wishes on colorful stars. From watercolor brushes to cuddly toys to practical things such as woolen blankets and kettles-the wishes are as diverse as the children themselves! Nadine Reiher and her husband Patrick, who launched the campaign, are enthusiastic about the support of the Oldesloer. "People ask the stars at the end of October!" Says Nadine.

The success story started in 2015 with only 60 stars. Inspired by a “desired tree” on the Baltic Sea, the herons also wanted to do something for the children in Bad Oldesloe. "We cut out stars to which the children could write their wishes," explains Nadine. And the concept arrived! In the first year there were concerns that the wishes could only be limited to the range of their business, but that was never the case. "The children can want everything as long as it does not exceed 25 euros!" She emphasizes.

Action "Desired Star" runs in the tenth year

The bright eyes of the recipient children are the biggest gift for Nadine. "It is indescribable to see the joy!", She says. The fear that a child will go away empty -handed has never been true. Instead, there are often more people who want to help than stars available! The campaign also promotes creativity and sense of community, as many children come together to design the stars.
