Large construction site on the A1 motorway cross: 59 hours of traffic jam and diversions!

A drama on the A1 on the Cross Bargteheide! From Friday evening, November 8th, the highway between the cross and Ahrensburg will be closed for an incredible 59 hours! Drivers have to adapt to massive traffic disruptions, while the old bridge over the A1, which has been in operation for almost 60 years, is finally being replaced. Cracks and corrosion damage make this step inevitable, because the bridge can no longer withstand the current and future transport requirements.

Preparations for this major project have been running since May. The makeshift bridge will be used next weekend, which makes the closure necessary. From 7 p.m., the A1 will be closed in both directions between the Ahrensburg junction and the Bargteheide motorway junction. The reopening is planned for Monday morning, November 11th, at 6 a.m. Drivers who are traveling towards Hamburg or the Baltic Sea coast should adapt to diversions that are signposted.

The Autobahn GmbH has introduced a colored point system for better orientation. All diversions are clearly marked, but the recommendation is: If possible, do without not mandatory trips in the region during this time!
