Bredstedt relies on history: The new image calendar 2025 is here!
The Association for Bredstedter History and City Science Care has also released a new image calendar for the coming year 2025. This is already the twelfth edition of the calendar, which is very popular with the residents of Bredstedt as well as in the area. The selection of the photographs was made by the board members Martina Junge-Grützmacher and Hans Degen. You managed to select the right motifs from the extensive archive so that it is presented in an appealing manner every month.
The special motifs include historical images, such as a winter picture from the old days and recordings of the traditional children's festival parade of the 50s. The cattle market on the Norderberg, which is now in a new development area "Dora-Carstens-Weg", is also recognized in one picture. The cover picture shows a view of the marketplace together with the then resident savings and rental fund from 1957, which significantly illustrates the change of the city. With two exceptions, all pictures are kept in black and white.
special features of the calendar
The April picture of the new calendar shows the weekly market in Bredstedt during the occupation. These historical representations are not only important for older generations, but also for younger people who want to get an insight into the past of their city. At a time when digital media dominate, the image calendar still has a permanent place in many households and is also very popular as a popular gift.
Inquiries were asked about the new calendar in August, but the start of sales only took place on September 1 at the traditional classic car meeting. The price for the calendar remains stable at 10 euros. Interested buyers can purchase the calendar during the opening hours of the historical association, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the office or in the city museum. He is also available in the city bookstore Bredstedt, the library and in the Tondernreff.
The association also wants to point out an interesting call: "Perhaps you also have old pictures or documents that our club will be happy to do. Pictures are scanned so that you will stay in your possession. Visit us!" This shows the commitment of the association not only to capture one's own history, but also that of the residents and their families.
These efforts are part of the efforts to preserve and make the cultural heritage of the region accessible. The calendar is therefore not only a beautiful piece of city history, but also a tool of memory for everyone who has lived or lived in Bredstedt.
