On Tuesday evening, a shocking traffic accident happened on the A23 near Hadenfeld (Steinburg district): A drunk driver converted a harmless drive into a drama with three injuries! The 46-year-old man, who was sitting at the wheel of a Suzuki, noticed other drivers through his dangerous driving style before moving from the Kaaksburg rest area.

Hardly by the wayside, the misfortune began: the driver could no longer control the vehicle and drove into snake lines. Before he was able to reach the next descent of Schenefeld, his car crashed into the outdoor protection out and the middle guideline. After the collision, the Suzuki stuck heavily damaged on the hard shoulder!

The quickly alarmed fire brigade Itzehoe and the police hurried to the scene of the accident to help. Dramatic: The passenger was briefly not available for a short time! The driver and a woman in the back seat suffered minor injuries. The officials carried out a breath alcohol test and were amazed: the value of the driver was 0.59 per thousand. There was also a strong smell of alcohol for the other two occupants. All three participants were brought to the clinic in Itzehoe for an examination.

Because of the serious accident, the A23 was closed to the north of travel for about half an hour. The Suzuki suffered a total loss after the impact and had to be towed. A terrible ending for a night that could have gone differently for everyone involved!
