drama in Elmshorn! On Sunday evening, November 3, 2024, a 27-year-old man from Uetersen exposed the laws of the road traffic regulations in his highly motorized Mercedes C-Class. At 9:55 p.m. he raced over the intersection of Hamburger Straße/Langelohe with a deafening engine noise - even though the traffic light was already on red!

Two attentive police officers from the Elmshorn police did not like this and recorded the persecution. But the driver went full throttle and accelerated to over 100 km/h, while he drove over another red traffic light at the Hamburger Straße/Steindamm intersection. The thrill finally ended in Hoyerstrasse, where the Mercedes stopped briefly, but then raced on the Lange Strasse. The police attempt to escape was put to an end in a dead end.

When checking, the officials found no evidence of alcohol or drug influence, but that did not stop them from withholding the driver's license and vehicle key of the racer. The young man is now facing criminal proceedings for a forbidden car race, in addition he threatens punishments for excessive speed and ran over red light signs.
