Dangerous waiting times: Segeberger Tafel fights against traffic chaos!

Bad Segeberg. In Bad Segeberg there is an alarm mood! The Segeberg Tafel, which provides food four times a week, faces a explosive traffic Situation. Chairman Kirsten Tödt and her committed team are concerned: the waiting people are often on the street, while cars turn from Rosenstrasse to Efeustrasse at high speed. "The place on the sidewalk is not enough, and that makes the situation extremely dangerous," warns Tödt.

The SPD parliamentary group has already submitted an application to the building committee to defuse the danger zone and to examine a Tempo 30 zone during the opening hours of the board. Building committee chairman Wolfgang Tödt (BBS) sees an "absolute danger potential" in the confluence of Rosenstrasse. Mayor Toni Köppen supports the idea of keeping an eye on the residents' interests, while the CDU assesses the situation as unproblematic and instead thinks about a crosswalk. But Tafel boss Tödt considers this idea to be "nonsense"-the problem would not be solved.

Currently 480 are in circulation, which are mainly used by refugees from Ukraine. The waiting time for new applications is about half a year. "We have good sources and a strong network," explains treasurer Lothar Hollatz. To help the waiting person in bad weather, a shelter is planned, supported by entrepreneur Bernd Jorkisch. This could be particularly advantageous for bus travelers who often have to wait hours before opening.

The board organizes the edition of food with a team of 140 volunteers who take care of the needy. "Sometimes it is an incredible bustle," says Tödt the situation. The table is well positioned, but the traffic situation remains a pressing problem that urgently needs to be solved.
