News about postal voting: important deadlines and information for Rendsburg!
In the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, voters can apply for postal voting from Monday, January 13th. The ballot papers with the names of the candidates and parties will be available at the earliest two weeks after the application. The district election manager Nils Förster recommends applying for the postal voting documents in good time and returning them quickly. Parties in the Bundestag constituency 4 have the opportunity to name their own candidates by Friday, January 10th, with the following parties have already given candidates: SSW, AfD, Freie Voters, CDU, Greens, SPD and FDP.
The deadline for naming other candidates ends on Monday, January 20, at 6 p.m. On Friday, January 24th, the district election committee will meet to allow the candidates. Applicants must have their place of residence in the district, and all information must be correct. Objections to the decisions of the election committee can be lodged by January 27th. The ballot papers are printed after checking the state lists. A total of around 220,000 ballots are required and the pressure orders have already been awarded. A nationwide test run for reviewing the technology and processes is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15th.
Voting certificate and application procedure
For postal voting, an option is required that can be requested from the municipality of the main residence. The application is possible both personally and in writing. The written application can also be made by fax or email, many municipalities also offer the opportunity to request documents online. However, a telephone application is not possible. On the back of the election notification there is a form for the application, which can also be made before delivery of the election notification.
The following information must be given for application: family name, first name, date of birth and living address (street, house number, postcode, location). If an application is made for another person, a written power of attorney is required. Application for other people is only possible personally or in writing and not electronically. Voters with disabilities can be supported in the application. Legal bases can be found in paragraphs 27 and 28 of the federal electoral code.The election Sunday is scheduled for February 23, and the polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Election workers are already sufficiently registered so that no other helpers are sought.
