Tariff conflict escalated: Massive strikes in Schleswig-Holstein bus traffic!

In the private bus industry in Schleswig-Holstein, a dramatic strike is scheduled! The ver.di union called up the employees of the Nordbus Association to put down their work from the early shift. "We received the clear command from the members to enter into the forced strike," explains Sascha Bähring, the negotiator at ver.di Nord. The reason? A broken tariff compromise that forces employees to take this drastic step!

The union voted with an overwhelming majority of almost 99 percent for the permanent strikes. This means that the strikes are not only limited to one region, but can also take place at any time and anywhere in Schleswig-Holstein-an unprecedented uprising in the bus industry! The North Bus Association, which comprises around 80 private bus companies, is shaken by this tremendous wave of the protest, while the commuters have to adapt to considerable restrictions in public transport.

strike plans and connections

Despite the strike, there are some connections that are to continue to be offered. Automatic power GmbH has already published strike plans on its website. Trips such as line 374 from Bargteheide to Poppenbüttel or student traffic on line 574 are to take place according to schedule. A ray of hope for commuters who rely on their bus connections!

But the situation could change quickly - ver.di even consider spontaneous strikes without notice. "A nationwide complete release of all private bus lines is possible," warns Bähring. The union leaves open when and where the next actions could take place. Negotiations with the OVN are on the brink and the pressure on employers is growing!

The OVN, on the other hand, criticizes the strikes as "unnecessary and senseless" and hopes for an early agreement. But the negotiations are tense because the OVN considers the financial means for the new collective agreement to be sufficient. The situation is explosive and could lead to further escalations if there is no solution in sight!
