Strike of the bus drivers: Surprisingly many trips remain undisturbed!
Ostholstein. Despite a announced bus driver strike in the region, the situation on the Neustädter ZOB is surprisingly relaxed. Passengers, like the boy Bengt Büsing, can easily start their trips to Grömitz. A current query in the Deutsche Bahn-app confirms that the buses go according to plan, also for the return trip. While the Verdi union had announced strikes for Thursday and Friday, numerous buses are at the stop and the digital scoreboards show numerous descents. However, there are some connections, including the line to Timmendorfer Strand.
Although many passengers feared considerable restrictions, but the strike does not have the expected impact. The FASSBUS X85 between Fehmarn and Lübeck continues to drive every hour. According to the emergency schedule, 342 trips are possible on the first day of strike. However, the company cannot provide any more precise numbers of the unusual trips. A railway spokesman clarifies that the yellow markings in the emergency schedule have no meaning and that all trips listed there are carried out.
No failures at Rohde
The Rohde Verkehrsbetriebe, on the other hand, cannot report any failures for Ostholstein's north. A spokesman confirms that only a few bus drivers take part in the strike, which the company can easily compensate for. However, valuable predictive power cannot be guaranteed for the future course of the strikes. Passengers are asked to regularly inform themselves on the Nah.sh website.
School operations can also take place as usual. At the Emmi Bonhoeffer School in Pönitz, only 10 out of 970 students are deregistered due to the bus problem. The school office of the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Oldenburg reports on a smooth school attendance of all students.
In front of the car power station in Neustadt you could perceive the striking bus drivers. These have gathered under a pavilion to represent their positions. Works council Karsten Holz asks for understanding for the inconvenience: "The colleagues need more money. Your income is often not enough, which is why many have to work additional work to make ends meet." It is particularly disappointing for the drivers that compromises achieved were suddenly withdrawn, which they perceive as a personal affront.
works council: strike is ongoing
Karsten Holz summarizes that no buses in Neustadt have not left the farm in Neustadt. In view of the numerous buses that still drive, he is not surprised. "Only union members receive strike money, but many colleagues cannot afford the contribution and must continue to work," he explains. He is pessimistic about the progress of the strikes: "This will take longer. We have to and will prove perseverance." A next strike day has already been announced for the coming Friday, October 11th. Even in the following week, from Monday, October 14th to Thursday, October 17th, strikes are again planned whether and how extensive these will take place remains uncertain.
