Eutin plans heat supply of the future: This will look like 2040!

The independent city of Eutin in Ostholstein is courageous: Since 2021, the obligation to plan heat has been introduced for larger municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein, and Eutin has seen this challenge. As part of its visionary plans, the city is aiming for greenhouse gas -neutral heat supply by 2040. In order to achieve this, the municipal utilities use a digital twin to determine the heat requirement of every house and analyze various heating alternatives, as right-eneergisch.de reported.

The new heat planning provides for three main products based on alternative energy sources: including solar thermal energy with a pellel pollen tank, biomass plants and an innovative river water heat pump. Eutin's managing director Marc Mißling emphasizes that many other municipalities also discuss the transition to emission -free heat supply. At the same time, Eutin plans to create clear legal framework through a district heating statute that was still unpopular until recently.
