Voluntary heroes: award for Neustädter and Göhler citizens!

Neustadt/Göhl. On Thursday, challenging volunteers were honored in Schleswig-Holstein! Six women and twelve men who work tirelessly for the common good were given the coveted Freiherr-vom-Stein-Merverdienstadel. Among them two Ostholsteiners stand out: Norbert Kahl from Neustadt and Ingo Ehlers from Göhl. Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack (CDU) praised her tireless efforts and emphasized how important it is to take responsibility for others.

Norbert Kahl, a social democrat, served from 1978 to 2024 in the city council and was active in numerous committees. His role as head of the new main committee after the abolition of the magistrate's constitution was particularly appreciated. In the eulogy it said: "Mr. Kahl understood it in an outstanding way to constructively combine self -government and mediating self -government and administration." In addition to his political career, Kahl is also involved in the Döhnsdorfer Heimat- und History Association as well as in the history workshop in Neustadt.

Honor for Ingo Ehlers from Göhl

Ingo Ehlers from Göhl can look back on an impressive 41-year-old local political career, including the last ten years as the first deputy mayor. But that's not all! Ehlers also worked in the local association of the Social Association of Germany for over 22 years and thus campaigned for the interests of the citizens. His merits are not only locally, but also shine far beyond the borders of Göhl.
