E. Coli in drinking water: Cooking bid for Grossenbrode and Fehmarn!

An alarming drinking water problem shaken the Ostholstein region! Because of dangerous E. coli bacteria, the citizens in Grossenbrode and on the island of Fehmarn were urgently advised to boil their water. The health warning came after uncovering crossing border at E. coli and coliforms, which were found in several samples. The affected areas not only included Grossenbrode, but also the Grossbroder ferry, Klaustorf, Strandhusen, Lütjenbrode, Mittelhof, Lütjenhof, Hinrichsruh and the entire island of Fehmarn.

The situation was serious! The Zweckverband Ostholstein acted quickly and put the affected memory container out of operation after the contamination was discovered in a routine sample. Immediate measures were coordinated to restore water quality. But the good news came on Sunday: the bid was lifted! After several successful, germ -free rehearsals, the Ostholstein Association was able to give the all -clear. Citizens can now access their tap water again.
