Kurt Kleinschmidt remains AfD boss: restart in the north despite protests!

Henstedt-Ulzburg, Deutschland - The tension was tangible when the AfD in Henstedt-Ulzburg held its party congress! Kurt Kleinschmidt, the 57-year-old ex-soldier from North Friesland, was again elected chairman of the state association with 54 percent of the votes. Despite the painful setback, not being represented in the Kiel state parliament, Kleinschmidt is planning a new attempt for the AfD in the north. At his side are the proven deputies Volker Schnurrbusch and Julian Flak, who were also confirmed in their offices.

But while the party members celebrated, around 400 demonstrators gathered in front of the community center to protest the event. The police had to observe minor incidents between the demonstrators and the emergency services, but fortunately there were no arrests or injuries. The protests were already heavily dumped on Sunday, with only a dozen participants in front of the community center. Despite repeated attempts by the municipality to prevent the AfD meetings, this place remains an integral part of its party days.

a new course for the AfD

Kleinschmidt and his supporters face the challenge of leading the AfD out of their political isolation. The party congress was not only a re -election, but also a sign of perseverance in a difficult political climate. The delegates are determined to regain the influence of the AfD in Schleswig-Holstein, while they have to face the growing protests of civil society at the same time. The next steps of the party are eagerly awaited, while the political waves in Germany continue to beat up.
