Music connects: 24 concerts inspire 2000 students in the Duchy of Lauenburg!

A week full of musical miracles! The intercultural school music program "Share My Music" caused excitement in Duchy of Lauenburg and Stormarn and gave around 2,000 school children unforgettable experiences. In 24 concerts at 13 schools, the students were able to experience the magical sounds of talented musicians up close. The gymnasiums and aules turned into living stages, on which the children often saw artists playing live for the first time. The Norwegian percussion artist Terje Isunget ensured amazement and enthusiasm with his fascinating natural sounds from woods and stones.

"Share My Music" is more than just a school project - it is a bridge between cultures that is beaten by the universal language of music. Jörg Rüdiger Geschke, who designed the program based on the Scandinavian model, said: "We are concerned with encountering foreign cultures about the connecting bridge of music." The school management from Geesthacht, Mölln and other places were enthusiastic about the idea, and so the musicians were able to make numerous appearances in a short time. Evening concerts and workshops for adults were also offered to show the variety of music forms.

highlights of the musical week

The week was intense and full of highlights for everyone involved. The Terje Isung set concert was particularly touching in the Möllner Steinfeldschule, where he delighted students with handicaps with his magical sounds. At the crowning glory, a family concert took place in the Möllner Stadthauptmannshof, in which all musicians entered into a harmonious dialogue. Gift and his team are enthusiastic about the success and planning a continuation of the program, which was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture Schleswig-Holstein and local sponsors.

The teachers agree: Such authentic musical experiences should take place regularly. "This stimulated that for our own actions. We should be able to experience something like that every month," said a teacher after a concert. In addition, the schools can access the interactive portal "Schoolmusicworldeurope" at any time to familiarize their students with international musicians and their instruments - live a free offer from the association with each other.
