Gas alarm in Geesthacht: fire brigade and police in action!
Geesthacht. On Friday morning, an alarm broke out in the St. Petri daycare center, the fire service and the police called on the schedule! A gas alarm was reported at around 9 a.m. and dozens of emergency vehicles immediately rolled into the street on the Spakensberg. The daycare staff reacted at lightning speed and evacuated the children to safety while the emergency services were on the way.
A fire brigade team with respiratory protection devices searched the building, while everything was prepared for a possible extinguishing attack before the entrance. The Stadtwerke Geesthacht were also quickly on hand to assess the Situation. But what was the reason for the excitement?
Fire Brigade and Stadtwerke Check the situation
"The control did not result in any indications of gas," said Sascha Tönnies, the fire chief of Geesthacht. As a precaution, the building was separated from the power grid and the heating was parked. "A specialist company will also check the heating company, but our measuring devices have not displayed anything," he added. Happiness for everyone involved, because the children were able to watch the exciting events out of the window and were enthusiastic about the many fire engines with flashing lights.
The head of the daycare center expressed relief about the false alarm: "The colleagues had perceived a gas smell and immediately chose the emergency call to prevent worse things." An exciting, but ultimately harmless incident that will remember everyone involved!
