Police uncovered overloaded wooden transporters - drivers face fine!

on federal road 45 in Erbach, the police opened a big overload problem on December 12 - four times! A traffic control by the South Hesse police headquarters covered that several wood transporters had significantly exceeded the permissible maximum load of 40 tons. During a van, loaded with short wood from the Odenwald and on the way to Middle Hesse, a total weight of breathtaking 50,360 kilograms was found. In order to ensure safety in road traffic, the officials prohibited the onward journey until some of the load was unloaded. The 38-year-old driver now has to expect a fine of over 300 euros and a point in Flensburg, such as the newsflash24 reported.

Established violation of the law

But that wasn't all! During further control, three other vans of the same company were stopped, which were also overloaded. These vehicles weighed 51,085, 52,200 and 50,350 kilograms - all well above the permitted limit. The police found that the company might save a complete journey through the overload on every second tour, which was equivalent to a significant financial advantage for the freight forwarder. In addition, a defective profile depth of a tire was also discovered during a van, which revealed additional safety risks. Here, too, the trucks were prohibited, while security services were collected to secure the fine procedures against the drivers, as from the Frankfurter Rundschau reported.

The investigation against the transport company is already running and include checking the legality of the vehicle rental and the assignment of the drivers. The company is not only faced with a possible fine, but also with the risk of assets. Such incidents throw a explosive light on the challenges of traffic safety and the responsibility of transport companies.
