DHB Cup: THW Kiel and Flensburg-Handwitt shine in the round of 16!

In a gripping round of 16 of the DHB Cup, the North German handball teams have impressively prevailed! The SG Flensburg-Handewitt triumphed with a clear 33:26 over the second in the Bundesliga, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. The THW Kiel could not be stopped and defeated the reigning champion and cup winner SC Magdeburg with 29:28. A real handball thriller that captivated the spectators!

But that wasn't all! The second division club HBW Balingen-Weilstätten and HSC 2000 Coburg also made the leap into the quarter-finals. The last remaining third division team, HC Empor Rostock, had to surrender and was eliminated against HBW Balingen-Weilstätten with 28:36. In other exciting duels, THSV Eisenach (30:24 against SC DHfK Leipzig) and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen (30:29 against Foxes Berlin) prevailed. The MT Melsungen won 32:27 in the final phase against Tusem Essen, while VfL Gummersbach defeated the second division Bergisches HC with 29:24.

The quarter-finals are determined!

After the last game of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, the quarter-finals were drawn by handball national player Xenia Smits. The pairings promise exciting encounters: HSC 2000 Coburg meets HBW Balingen-Weilstätten, while SG Flensburg-Handewitt has to travel to MT Melsungen. The THW Kiel has a home right against VfL Gummersbach again. The games will take place on December 18 and 19, and the anticipation for the final four tournament on April 12 and 13, 2025 will increase!

The tension is tangible and the best teams in handball are fighting for the coveted final four in Cologne. Who will prevail and get the title? The fans can hardly wait!
