Cleanliness in Ludwigsfelde: Citizens are demanding more trash cans for dog droppings!

Ludwigsfelde. The city is facing a garbage disaster! Overcrowded wastebasket and illegally disposed waste cause excitement among the citizens. Jens Wylegalla from the free voters is full and demands more trash cans for dog droppings on the old Potsdamer Straße. "Our city has to be cleaner!" He calls at the city council. Mayor Andreas Igel (SPD) is also alerted: "Citizens should feel good!" But despite his efforts to improve cleanliness, the dissatisfaction remains great.

Citizens complain about dirt and rubbish, and the urban complaint portal "Maerker" is over. "No sweeping machine has been coming through Maxim-Gorki-Straße for three weeks, but the regulatory office is constantly collecting," residents complain. The garbage, especially dog droppings, becomes a constant annoyance. Press spokesman Kevin Senft explains that the city provides free dog toilets, but many use the trash cans for household waste, which leads to overcrowded containers. "The bags often land next to the bucket," says Steffen Bork, who is responsible for cleanliness.

illegal garbage in Ludwigsfelde costs money and time

The situation becomes worse by illegal garbage that contains the city. Altroops, scrap and packaging waste must be laboriously disposed of by the employees of the municipal service. "That takes time and money," explains Bork. A large pile of garbage on the Schulzendorfer Graben particularly causes trouble. The disposal could cost urban employees more than a day! In addition, numerous old clothing containers remain unleaded because the old clothing collector is insolvent. The citizens are frustrated and the call to personal responsibility is unheard of. "If people would simply put their garbage into the trash can, we would have helped," said Bork.

Despite the challenges, there are bright spots: some citizens, including members of the hiking club, collect garbage and set a sign of a clean city. But the fight against the garbage continues!
