FSV Zwickau: Upward trend against Meuselwitz - Hiemann remains until 2027!

Zwickau, Deutschland - Zwickau- The FSV Zwickau is on the way of improvement! After a catastrophic start with five defeats and only six points from the first seven regional league games, Schmitt-Elf got the curve. In the last seven games they scored an impressive 14 out of 21 possible points. The next crucial duel against ZFC Meuselwitz is on Friday evening, where the upward trend is to be confirmed.

A key player in this turn is goalkeeper Lucas Hiemann (25), who has now extended his contract until 2027. Sports director Robin Lenk (40) sees him a real guarantee of success. But not only on the pitch will work on the future. The association is also planning to consolidate economic and will soon appoint a full-time managing director to set the course for a third division-compatible future.

economic course

André Beuchold (37), who has been a volunteer as managing director for over a year, has already dismantled half of the once three million euros in debt in just one year. With a budget of around four million euros, due to the contaminated sites, the first team is only available just over a million euros. But the repayment of the debts will expand the financial scope and sports director Lenk will give the opportunity to form a competitive squad.

The change from a triple to a chain of four has given the defensive more stability. The goal scoring ratio has dropped from 2.43 in the first seven games to only 0.86 in the last seven. Lenk is optimistic: "The development of the past few weeks is correct for me. Nevertheless, the first games of this season have to be an apprenticeship not to give us less. A tough task awaits us against Meuselwitz!"
