Financial crisis in the Zwickau district: decisions required by 2025!

Zwickau - the flashing alarm bells ring in the Zwickau district! The financial situation becomes so bleak that the top of the administration had to announce at the last district meeting that the next double budget could not be decided until March 2025! Vice-Councilor Angelika Hölzel (64) must also keep a cool head, because the financial means are on the brink.

The reserves? You will soon be used up! The big shock: by the end of 2026, the district of Zwickau will face a short amount of five million euros! "The saved one will reach a maximum of next year," says the Financial deputy Hölzel the concerned citizens know. The dream of an approval -capable budget is suddenly smashed, and the result is alarming: the administration remains able to act in order to manage mandatory editions such as social benefits and personnel costs, but voluntary services and new investments are on the brink!

A dramatic solution must be found! By December, the individual district council committees must advise where the red pencil can be set. The results will then be set on the agenda in December for the big decision in the district council. If everything goes according to plan, the final decision for the end of March 2025 could make headlines!
