Weidenhain. In the small municipality of Dreheide, where around 2200 people live, there are exciting news! After a long waiting and many bureaucratic hurdles, the way for the construction of eight new homes in Weidenhain is finally free! The last permits are granted and the surveying work can now begin. A saying says: "What will last long will be good" - and that applies fully here!

As early as February 2018, the first step to create a new building area was initiated on an area of 7,500 square meters. Despite a positive decision by the State Directorate in February 2019, there were always delays. The blueprint for the "small maize" seemed within reach, but the authorities made unexpected complications. The green order plan had to be revised and the cooperation between the offices was anything but smooth. Often it was decided by the desk without taking into account the Situation on site.

But the patience of the community has paid off! The necessary decisions were taken in June, and in August the surveying work could finally be awarded. Mayor Karsta Niejaki (non -party) has campaigned for a creative solution: Instead of the unauthorized compensation plantings, an initial reforestation for mixed forest in Weidenhain is now being made on 0.55 hectares. The surveying work is in full swing, and the community is ready to welcome builders!
