Youth club in Audenhain opens again: A meeting point for the future!
Audenhain. After a painful break of six months, the youth club in Audenhain is finally open again! The young people from the Mockrehna district can now look forward to a weekly meeting point that is an indispensable starting point for 30 to 40 adolescents. Mayor Frank Schmidtke (FWG) breathes open after he was often approached by concerned citizens because of the closure. The reopening comes just in time before the cold season breaks!
The closure was due to a lack of trustworthy contacts. Schmidtke explains: "The club always has to name a confidant who is at least 18 years old. The previous contact person could no longer be on site due to his studies." But the rescue is approaching: Leon Kneiß has agreed to take responsibility! The young man, who is training as a logistics specialist in Leipzig, sees the club as an institution that is not easy to give up.
"Youth Club in Audenhain is an institution"
Leon Kneiß is determined to accept the challenge. "I am happy to take responsibility," he says, preparing for possible parties. The 18-year-old has noticed in the past few months how important the club is for the young people, especially with the approaching winter. "We have nothing in Mockrehna where we can meet. We thankfully accept our way to Audenhain," he adds. The young people are so motivated that they even lend a hand to beautify the club's facade and to remove the wild growth around the building. The youth club is back - and the joy of the young people is limitless!
