Autumn holiday fun: The best excursions and events in northern Saxony!

In the district of North Saxony, the residents and visitors are offered a diverse program at the weekend from October 11th to 13th, 2024. From exciting events such as rides with the Döllnitzbahn to creative activities such as the Lego Challenge in the Eilenburg Museum, there are plenty of opportunities for all age groups.

The layout of the Döllnitzbahn in Mügeln offers three trains every day in both directions, which among other things serve the Oschatz and Kemmlitz stations. The historical procession not only attracts railway fans, but also families to an unforgettable excursion.

Friday-Diverse events

Eilenburg. In the local swimming pool there is an exciting event for children from 2 to 4 p.m. Here young talents compete in the course and tower jumping. It will be very different, but also appealing, it will be in Torgau from 8 p.m.: Michael-Alexander Lauter will present his reading "The Visited Youth Club" for interested parties in the cultural bastion. The one-Women comedy show with Marie Lumpp in the Kulturhaus Torgau also starts at the same time.

Saturday-Celebration and concerts

sornzig. On Sunday at 3 p.m. there is a concert by the light choir in the church of Sornzig. In parallel, Eilenburg offers a particularly interesting vernissage for the photo exhibition by Rainer Flöter, which is opened at 2 p.m. in Puschkinstraße 91 in Eilenburg-Ost. The exhibition is accessible daily (except Wednesdays) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Riesa. The Ü39 party takes place in the evening, which promises a sociable get-together. In Töle, visitors have the opportunity to experience a hearty festival at the first Schenkenberger Oktoberfest celebration in the parish barn Schenkenberg.

Belggern. In the shooting range, the event "Rock meets Punk" will take place from 8.30 p.m., a must for music lovers. The cult band Keimzeit is also celebrating an anniversary in the cultural bastion of Torgau, with a concert that has inspired the fans for 40 years.

In addition on Saturday, interested parties can let their creativity run free at the open ceramic workshop at the school of the heart in Börln from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. For the gourmets there is the opportunity to enjoy the hearty fish trains in Koselitz am Wehrfeldeich, where not only fresh fish, but also the famous Koselitzer fish soup is on the program.

In the vicinity of Oschatz, it will certainly not be boring: The exhibition "Fascination Model Railway" in the "O" shows 16 different systems with a wide variety of tracks. This is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
