"This means that this is moistened immediately before the solids are applied with a salt solution," explains Dirk Hänel, who is responsible for devices and traffic technology. This method reduces the loss of scatter through life and ensures better liability of the salt on the road.

In addition, innovative stray devices are used in the district, which automatically and temperature -dependent on the road temperature. "This control is important because the road surface temperatures sometimes differentiate greatly," adds Hänel.

For the coming winter season, 10,400 tons of salt have already been ordered. In addition, 6,700 tons are currently stored, which is an extensive preparation for the challenges of winter.
