New chair of the disabled advisory board: Cornelia Melzer takes over!
A new wind blows on the disabled advisory board of Central Saxony! Cornelia Melzer, the dynamic 41-year-old, was elected as the new chairman and takes over the management of the committee with fresh vigor. In the secret election on Monday, the 15 members present voted for Melzer, who was enthusiastic about the trust they had placed in them. "I am very happy about the choice and thank you for the trust. I would be happy to face this exciting and versatile task," said the new boss of the advisory board.
Michael Richter from Freiberg, who was already shining as a deputy in the previous term of office, was re -elected. He also emphasized the importance of visibility in public and the need to sensitize the population to the concerns of people with disabilities. "We have to further expand visibility in public," said the 41-year-old. The committee, which is made up of 16 members, brings together representatives of the disabled people, the district parliamentary groups and the district administration to improve the living conditions of the people with disabilities.
First session in a new line -up
The first meeting of the new advisory board has already taken place and is held publicly four times a year. The next meeting is planned for January 20, 2025, which includes the allocation of measures within the framework of the funding program "Dear places for everyone". The committee will continue to play a crucial role in representing and promoting people's concerns with disabilities in the district of Central Saxony. The expectations are high and the members are ready to accept this challenge!
