Riesa in the spotlight: Let S Dance tour started here!

Kölner Lanxess-Arena, Köln, Deutschland - Riesa, a city with less than 30,000 inhabitants in the Meißen district, has established itself as an important place for the “Let’s Dance” live tour. The relatively unknown city, which is about 80 kilometers east of Leipzig, has been hosting for this dance show since 2019. Joachim Llambi, who has been sitting on the jury since 2006 and has just won a German television award, explains the choice of the location: "It is the smallest hall that we play on our tour, and there are one or two side halls that we can use for training days." These special circumstances make Riesa the ideal place for the preparation and implementation of the show.

"Let's Dance" combines celebrities with professional dancers who learn different dance styles together. The jury evaluates the performances weekly, while the audience supports its favorites by calls. This year the title of Dancing Star went to Gabriel Kelly. The program has been very popular since its first broadcast in 2006 and is better accepted from year to year. Llambi notes that nobody originally believed and added to the long -term success of the show: "It is simply with the best format on German television."

The dynamics of the "Let’s Dance" live tour

The live tour brings former candidates and jurors together to offer fans an unforgettable experience. The show will be performed on November 13th in the renowned Cologne Lanxess-Arena. While the television program is produced in the MMC studios in Cologne, Llambi has a special connection to the city: "During my active time as a dancer, I train once or twice a week." This familiarity makes the return to Cologne almost a home game for him.

The three finalists Detlef Soost, Jana Wosnitza and Gabriel Kelly are part of the tour this season, all accompanied by moderators and legal members. Llambi describes the atmosphere of the live events: "At the beginning of television, the celebrities are still excited and do not know exactly what to expect while the tour has a completely different energy-the post is just going."

The juror has a profound appreciation for the city of Cologne. He enjoys the atmosphere on the Rhine, the majestic cathedral and of course the famous carnival tradition. "The cathedral is of course the most beautiful church," he enthuses. Llambi also has a passion in football, even if he comes from Duisburg and supports the MSV Duisburg. Here he reflects the special mood in the stadium: "The mood is excellent."

The challenges of the tour

Despite the festival, the entire team, which consists of professional dancers, celebrities and technicians, must manage a logistical challenge. "Organizing 23 shows at 31 events is not a sugar slack; driving from venue to venue is the most strenuous. The rest is a big party," emphasizes Llambi. Nevertheless, the fun and the joy that everyone involved share is incomparable. "Everyone wants to have fun together, and everyone also has fun together," he says.

The preparations are in full swing for the live tour "Let's Dance 2024", which takes place on November 13th in Cologne. Tickets are available at the usual ticket agencies. This combination of dance, music and the energy of the audience promises an unforgettable night in the heart of Cologne, which goes far beyond the usual
