Farewell Café Chérie: Last opening in Dresden's most beautiful café!
Arturo Geforgyan, operator of the café "Café Chérie", closes his doors after three and a half years. The popular café, which is located on the ground floor of the Galeria Karstadt department store in Dresden, says goodbye to its guests on Sunday. According to TAG24 had a capacity of 50 places and offered an elegant flair with white and glass steel. Guests were able to enjoy handmade macarons and tartlets with pistachio cream and ice cream and let themselves be pampered with Prosecco and champagne.
The closure is justified by the increased costs, especially with regard to operating expenses. Only today serves the employee Simone Noack Törtchen in the café, while Arturo Geforgyans Patisserie works of art continue to be available in the "Classico Italiano" at the Neumarkt.
political commitment and protest
in parallel to the closure of his café, Gevgyan used his restaurant "Classico Italiano" to protest the high electricity prices. According to FOCUS he has posted "Green politicians have house ban" attached. This protest is directed against the considerable financial burdens that arise as an entrepreneur due to rising energy costs. Geforgyan emphasizes that the ban on house only applies to the Greens politicians and not for their voters.
He reports that he can no longer bear monthly electricity costs of around 20,000 euros and is in a critical situation. The Green politician Thomas Löser understands the program and stress of the innkeepers, but sees a ban on house for political parties in a democracy as inappropriate. Löser suggests doing an energy policy conversation with Begivgyan.
