Real-time exhibition: Experience Dresden's art until April 2025!

The municipal gallery Dresden is currently presenting the exhibition "real time", which presents over 40 newly acquired works for the city's art collection. This exhibition, which runs until April 21, 2025, combines a total of 51 new works, which are exhibited together for the first time and offer a variety of artistic manuscripts and perspectives.

The exhibited work has mainly been created in recent years and include works by established Dresden artists and graduates of the academy. These acquisitions were made possible by an anonymous patron who visited the exhibitions of the municipal gallery for many years. After their death, funds were provided to acquire contemporary art, which makes this collection of collection a unique event in the history of the institution.

diverse perspectives on the present

The exhibition addresses important social issues and the role of art in today's world with contributions from 24 artists. The focus is on painting, supplemented by sculptures and conceptual work. Important works can be seen by Hermann Glöckner and Angela Hampel, as well as current works by Sophia Schama and Rao Fu.

Visitors are invited to step in dialogue with the works of art and to question their own perspectives. The exhibition opens up a space for reflection on identity and society and encourages those present to develop new food for thought. The concept of the "Den rooms", the poetry, knowledge, dialogue and humor is emphasized to offer visitors a comprehensive experience.

The opening times of the city gallery are from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Fridays to 7:00 p.m. Entry is 5 euros, reduced 4 euros, and on Fridays the entry from 12:00 is free of charge, except on public holidays.
