The VVO pulls the connector: Timetable book has had its day!
A revolutionary step in East Saxony! The Oberelbe Verkehrsverbund (VVO) has announced that the printed timetable book, which was hardly used recently, is no longer offered. With 2,000 pages it was not only difficult, but also impractical. On December 15, this old format will be abolished, and instead the VVO relies on digital solutions. The background to this decision is the drastic decline in use; Finally, only 0.5 percent of passengers in the thick book, such as The Saxony reported. There are no more printed timetables in the districts of Bautzen, Meißen, Meißen and Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Mountains and in the urban area of Dresden.
In addition, passengers in East Saxony have to switch to a new digital information source. According to information from VG Meißen , timetable changes are usually also made to set dates, which are published in correction sheets. A new timetable book will be published every year in the first half of December. It is pointed out that these changes can also be used outside of the periods determined, for example due to road construction work or changes to the lessons. During the Saxon holidays, special regulations apply to trips. The future of public transport in this region is becoming increasingly digital and more flexible.
