Zwickau shines: Travel fair in 2025 promises cultural highlights!

The city of Zwickau will be represented at the travel fair in the Zwickau town hall from January 17th to 19th. Under the motto "City of Zwickau and its partners - City of Zwickau and its culture", the presentation aims to highlight the cultural diversity and attractiveness of Zwickaus. Partners such as the Saxon-Bavarian city network as well as the cities of Dortmund and Jablonec Nad Nisou will also be represented at the booth.

Visitors are cordially invited to visit booth No. 2 and to learn more about the planned programs for the Capital of Culture 2025. This year, numerous events such as exhibitions, concerts, theater performances and festivals are planned. In addition, the Saxon-Bavarian city network offers information on city tourism and invites you to discover the region.

The partners also include the Zwickau partner cities Dortmund and Jablonec Nad Nisou, who present themselves at the joint stand. Hüttenwirt Heinz Leitner from the Zwickauer Hütte will also be present in South Tyrol, who organized a festival week for the 125th hut jubilee in July 2024. Culinary samples and discussions about future hiking plans are also part of the program. In addition, the intercultural commitment is presented as part of the program "Unimagined worth seeing - Zwickau in the Capital of Culture Year".

In connection with the title of Capital of Culture in Europe, it should be noted that it has been awarded to two European cities annually since 1985. In 2020 Chemnitz (Germany) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia) were selected as cultural capitals for 2025. As reported chemnitz 2025 , the motto of the city "c the Unseen" will be concentrated on unseen and excluded things.

For Zwickau, a manual is created as a cultural capital that records essential knowledge and content orientations. Five program lines form the basis of the Capital of Culture and include the exchange with European partners and generational projects. Workshops, educational offers and discussion events will help promote cultural participation and citizen participation.
