Correct money in Schneeberg and Aue: Police are looking for witnesses!

Schneeberg/Aue. In a shocking wave of fake money fraud, unknowns have targeted business in Schneeberg and Aue in the past few weeks. On Tuesday, around 2 p.m., a mysterious man paid in a shop on Bahnhofstrasse in Aue with a fake 100-euro note for goods worth only eleven euros. As soon as he had left the business, he disappeared with the change in the crowd.

But that was not the only incident that day! Just ten minutes later, another man entered the same shop and also paid with a 100 euro note. The seller, became suspicious, checked the banknote and found it horrified that it was a fake. The Chemnitz police report that similar frauds took place in three shops in Schneeberg at the end of November, in which the perpetrators used fake 100-euro notes to exchange them.

The investigation is in full swing

The fake banknotes bear the imprint "Moviemoney", which could put the criminal police on the trail of an organized fraud network. The investigators are now looking for witnesses and other victims.
