In the night of Monday there was a spectacular incident in Waldheim: unknown perpetrators blew up a ticket machine at the train station and stole the cash box with several thousand euros. But that was not the only incident in the region. Just a day later, a ticket machine was significantly damaged in Burgstädt, 30 kilometers away. Pyrotechnics was also suspected, so DNN . In this case, however, there were no stolen funds, but property damage of several thousand euros was nevertheless. The police are now investigating in both cases and examining possible connections between the acts.

The crime series seem to be spreading in middle saxony, as this has not been the first attack on ticket machines recently. A similar incident was only reported in Hohenstein-Ernstthal in early December. The criminal police in Chemnitz asks for evidence of witnesses who have observed striking people near the train stations.
