In Wittenberg, numerous cultural events will be on the program next weekend. Organizers offer visitors various options for activities, including museum visits, theater performances and other activities.
The Clack Theater is already a sale for the "Spicy Christmas Revue Showcolade" on Saturday and for the fairy tale "Aschen puttel" on Sunday. In addition, a song tour with the band Schüller will take place on Sunday in the Rotta gasmühle. In addition to the band, Torsten Sielaff will also announce other artists. A cultural highlight is the exhibition "A life for art. The expressive-symbolist worlds of Thea Schleusner", which will be shown in several Wittenberg locations. These include the Wittenberg art point, the museum in the Zeughaus, the Cranach Foundation and the Christian Art Foundation. The opening times vary: The town hall and the Zeughaus are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Cranach Foundation from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the castle on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The exhibition about the artist Thea Schleusner, who can be seen between August 31, 2024 and January 12, 2025, shows over 280 works from private collections and more than 50 loans from public possession. This comprehensive retrospective on the occasion of its 60th year of death offers an insight into the artistic life's work of Schleusner, which lived from 1879 to 1972. Her work is shaped by a special formal language and color and move between expressionism, new objectivity and symbolism.
In addition, the well -known ballet "The Nutcracker" will be performed on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Anhalt Theater Dessau. The Gemäldegalerie in Georgium in Dessau also opened its doors after extensive renovation. There, visitors can look at over 250 paintings from different eras from 15 to the 20th century, whereby the opening times on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on New Year's Day from 12 to 6 p.m. Otherwise the gallery is open except Tuesdays.
