Nauendorf, Deutschland - A radiant success for the Heimatverein Nauendorf e.V.! The association was named Saxony-Anhalt's national winner of the German neighborhood award 2024. With their impressive project "Nauendorf is growing together - a garden for all generations", they have created a unique place of the encounter that brings together young and old. State Secretary Susi Möbbeck ceremoniously presented the price endowed with 2,000 euros and praised the commitment of the association.

"The Heimatverein Nauendorf prevailed against more than 900 applications! With their generation garden, they have created a lively meeting point that enriches our society and promotes humanity," emphasized Möbbeck at the award ceremony. In times of uncertainty, a strong social network is essential, and this is exactly what this garden offers. The award is more than deserved!

a garden for everyone

Two years ago, the home club, the Nauendorf primary school and numerous committed citizens launched the "generation garden". This place quickly developed into a popular meeting point that actively shapes social interaction and village life. Volunteers from all age groups have built up the garden with a lot of passion and continuously further shape it. The garden is now very popular and attracts people from different generations and places.

The "Garden for all generations" is one of 16 state winning projects in Germany that was awarded a prize money of 2,000 euros. The independent jury had the difficult task of selecting the best projects from over 900 applications. Nauendorf did it - a sign of the power of the community!
