Personnel cuts in Saxony-Anhalt: Threat for the help of the disabled!

Magdeburg, Deutschland - At the moment it is bubbling in Saxony-Anhalt: A planned personnel reduction in disabled help ensures massive protests! Surprisingly, the State Social Ministry has terminated the existing contracts and presented new, worrying personnel keys. "From January 1, 2025, all people with disabilities will continue to receive their help and support," assures the ministry. But the dark side of this announcement are already throwing dark clouds over numerous facilities!

Welfare associations sound an alarm: Depending on the form of living, the cuts could be between 30 and 50 percent! Martin Schreiber, the chairman of the State Working Group of Workshops for Disabled People, warns that this not only endangers the well -being of those affected, but also numerous jobs on the brink. In an angry protest before the state parliament, Doreen Snow, Managing Director of the Matthias-Claudius-Haus Foundation's disability facility, expressed their concerns: "The plans mean that groups have to be made larger. Then nothing works anymore."

Equipment endangered! Quality of life on the track?

The dramatic consequences of the cuts run like a shadow about the everyday accompaniment of people with disabilities. Support on everyday questions, be it when visiting the toilet or eating, could become a challenge that can hardly be practiced. "The staff is already scarce. With the planned cuts, everything will collapse," warns Snow vehemently. It is on the brink of whether those affected can continue to maintain the necessary participation in life outside of their facilities.

and while the protesters become sound, Minister of Social Affairs Petra Grimm-Benne (SPD) assures that the goal is an agreement. If no new framework contract is concluded, a legal ordinance is threatened by the state government - but that does not mean the end of the negotiations. Time is pushing and the future of disabled help is uncertain!
