Börde education network: Focus on volunteering libraries!
Haldensleben, Deutschland - An important meeting of the library manager in the Börde district took place on October 23, 2024 in the Haldensleben city and district library. Representatives of 11 community and 2 school libraries, as well as a specialist representative from Saxony-Anhalt, came together to discuss the future of libraries. The event was organized by the committed employees of the district loan, Ms. Wenzel and Ms. Herbst, who underlined the importance of these facilities as central educational pillars.
The district loan traffic, which looks after 21 city, municipal and 4 school libraries, opened a new library in Satuelle this year and revived the facility in Wedringen. These libraries are often dependent on external funding in order to purchase current media. Thanks to the support of the country and the district, you can now offer a wide range of media that ranges from fiction to children and youth literature to modern non-book media. The libraries not only receive books, but also games, audio books and extensive materials to support their loan.
