Homburger Hohenburg School: Green light for 2.7 million euros project!
Homburger Hohenburg School: Green light for 2.7 million euros project!
The planned work to green the forecourt of the Hohenburg School in Homburg slowly take shape. As early as 2020, the city presented designs for this project, which is to be financed by a generous federal funding of 2.7 million euros and a share of 300,000 euros. But the progress of this measure is lengthy and tough, which is almost reminiscent of chewing gum, which cannot really be bitten off.
In the past few weeks there have been first visible changes on the premises. The soil in front of the school has been dragged into parts, but so far it has only been preparatory measures. In particular, two longitudinal pitches are excavated to carry out important provisions of the soil. This work is expected to be completed by November.
Current status of the work
Those responsible in the city of Homburg are optimistic about the progress, even if the preparations have so far taken more time than originally planned. The greening project is not only a beautification of the school environment, but can also contribute to a better environmental and climate balance. In the future, the forecourt should serve as a green area that will benefit both students and residents.
Despite the delays, the federal government's grant remains for greening, which is of great importance for the city. It remains to be seen whether the work can be completed by the announced date and what the final design of the area will ultimately look like. Homburg's citizens can hope for positive developments and look forward to the upcoming progress.
