Magaly Meynadier: On the way to the European Championship qualification and the old form!

Magaly Meynadier, the tireless captain of the FLBB women, is ready to quake the arena of the Coque! On Thursday and Sunday, the national team of European Championships are pending for the national team. After two glamorous victories last November, the anticipation is huge - and the pressure on the team is enormous!

In her almost 33-year career, Meynadier has lived through heights and depths, which she made a true fighter. After a serious injury in May 2022, which she took out for almost a year, she celebrated her comeback with a silver medal in the games of the small states in Malta in spring 2023. Your change from Saarlouis to Marburg brought challenges, but the return to her home club in summer was an emotional highlight! "I got a lot of news from fans who are happy that I'm back," beams the player.

The pressure and expectations increase!

But not everything runs smoothly. Her role in the team has not yet been hoped for, and the season so far has been turbulent for the Royals. "I only play 15 to 17 minutes on average - that's not what I am used to," explains Meynadier. After a series of defeats and a surprising victory against runner -up Keltern, the goal remains clear: Saarlouis has to set an example in the league to play again in the title race. The captain comes at the right time for the captain: "Mentally, this is very important to prove that I can also get a different role."

The enthusiasm for the EM qualification is tangible! "We have the unique chance of writing history and we can all be part of it. I have to say I'm really 'hyped'," says Meynadier. The day after the game against Montenegro, she celebrates her 33rd birthday - maybe there is double reason to celebrate! The emotions and the team spirit are stronger than ever, and the fans are behind her and the team. "When I come back, it is really as if we had only seen each other two days ago," she says of the great atmosphere among the national players. Ready for the big showdown!
