New Center for Pain and Palliative Medicine in Saarbrücken!

Saarbrücken, Deutschland - Saarbrücken. A groundbreaking step in medical care: The clinic for palliative medicine and the pain clinic at the Caritas Clinic Saarbrücken combine their strength! At the head of this new, common Center for Pain and Palliative Medicine are two outstanding chief physicians who will bring a breath of fresh air to the treatment of pain patients.

The pain clinic will be in the future by Dr. Maria Schlichter, an experienced specialist in internal medicine who previously worked at the Elisabeth Clinic in Saarlouis. Your expertise will be decisive because the clinic in the long term is to be relocated to the central CTS headquarters on the Rastpfuhl from the Saarbrücken-Dudweiler location. Your colleague, Dr. Frauke Backes, also brings impressive qualifications: after studying medicine in Göttingen and further training as a specialist in internal medicine as well as oncology and hematology, she was already active in palliative medicine.

A new age of pain and palliative medicine

The two new chief physicians succeed Dr. Ludwig Distler, a pioneer of pain and palliative medicine in Saarland, who is now retiring. With the merging of the two clinics into a specialized center, Dr. Schlichter and Dr. Backes bundle the skills and develop a cross -sectoral therapeutic concept. This means even better care for patients who suffer from chronic pain or must be treated palliatively. The future of pain and palliative medicine in Saarbrücken looks promising! (kud)
