Police blocks Worms pedestrian zone: possible explosives discovered!

Alarm in Worms! On Tuesday evening, the city center became the scene of a spectacular police operation. The reason? Explosive material could have been discovered in an apartment near the Lutheran complex! The police warn: Maybe it is explosives!

To rule out any danger, a large part of the pedestrian zone was sealed off! The closures concern Parmaplatz, Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße to the former C&A building and the Adenauerring. Local residents have to leave their apartments while the ordnance clearing service checks the explosive situation. However, a police spokesman emphasizes: "At no time there was a danger to the population!" Nevertheless, passers -by should avoid the blocked area so as not to hinder the emergency services.
