Trier celebrates: Carnival session 2024/25 starts with a big party!

On Monday, November 11th, at 11.11 a.m., the grain market in Trier becomes the setting for a grand spectacle! The carnival session 2024/25 is opened with a spectacular Volksbank session start, and the anticipation is tangible! The city expects a colorful amount of fools who can look forward to an unforgettable party. The atmosphere is brought to a boil with regional mood bands!

Traditionally, the carnival opening on 11.11. Celebrated on the grain market, and the Trier Carnival (ATK) working group invites everyone to be part of this foolish hustle and bustle. This year falls 11.11. On a Monday, which means that the whole week is all about carnival. The first sounds of the music are heated up by the "Dompiraten", "Leifeck Bloas", "whipped cream" and many others. The "Warm Up" begins at 10.30 a.m. before the colorful program starts at 11 a.m. and lasts until the afternoon!

Countdown and prince couple

A highlight of the day will be the wake -up! The foolish scepter, the "Wuppus", is awakened from its uncarnval deep sleep on time at 11.11 a.m. In addition, the designated couple of the city of Trier 2025, Christine II and Stephan I of Eurania will have their first big appearance. They are provided by the “Grün-Weiss” carnival club in 1979 and present themselves to the foolish people on the grain market.

The celebrations end with a graduation ceremony in the casino on the Kornmarkt from around 4 p.m. The ATK calls everyone to appear in colorful, imaginative costumes and celebrate together. Be there when the fifth season is officially heralded in Trier - an event that should not be missed!
