Murder in the bathroom: BGH confirms prison terms for unscrupulous perpetrators
In a gruesome case of Murder, which shakes all of Germany, the Trier district court has now finally decided: The judgment against two Serbs who brutally killed a 56-year-old man in his bathtub is final. The Federal Court of Justice rejected the revision of the older accused. The 27-year-old has to go to prison for life, while his accomplice of the same age was sentenced to a youth penalty of 13 years. The judges assumed a special severity of guilt - a clear sign of how serious the offense was.
The shocking incident occurred in January 2023 in the tranquil Eifelort Hersdorf. What looked like a harmless meeting ended in a cold-blooded act: the 56-year-old was unsuspecting and naked in his bathtub when the two men he had previously met over the Internet. With a wheel nut key, they hit the back of the head twelve times - an assault that happened out of pure greed. The perpetrators had the fatal intentions from the start - the supposed erotic encounter was only an excuse.
The fateful meeting
The victim was "picked up" by his murderers to Remscheid, because the contact had been created in advance over the Internet. Instead of sexual adventures, the two men only ran out onto a brilliant plan: they wanted to rob their victim. After the fig murder, the criminals searched the apartment and stowed two tablets, a laptop and 300 euros in coin money in the man's car. But the escape was not permanent! The car got stuck in the mud, and the two tried in vain to walk on foot before finally fled to North Rhine-Westphalia by taxi and public transport. They were finally arrested ten days later, and the murder case caused indignant headlines.
