Especially the small parties are stressed. In order to be approved for election, you must collect over 2,000 support signatures within a very short time. In Trier, there are more than 200 signatures for each small party that have to be checked for their validity. "A mammoth task for the administrations!", Schmitz continued. The examination of the signatures is time -consuming and could significantly delay the voting preparations.

Another urgent problem: the search for election helpers. In Trier alone, almost 800 helpers are required for 59 polling stations. The district of Trier-Saarburg even needs more than 2,000 election workers. Many potential helpers are active in carnival clubs and could be missing on election Sunday. "It will be difficult to find someone who is available as election workers after a cap session on Saturday morning on Sunday morning," explains Werner Krämer, spokesman for the city of Bitburg. In order to counteract this, advertisements are to be switched to win election workers.

The organization of postal voting also represents a major challenge. The editing of the postal voting documents must be carried out in a narrow time frame, which also contains the administrations.
