Fraudsters arrested at the Wash-Wash trick in Trier-Saarburg!

Drama in the district of Trier-Saarburg! On October 30th, three alleged fraudsters were caught who tried to outsmart a real estate seller with a sophisticated "Wash-Wash trick". The Wittlich and Trier criminal police already had the brazen crooks in their sights and was able to stop them on their perfidious plan.

The perpetrators, aged 32, 43 and 57, were prospective buyers and contacted the victim that had offered a property for sale. In order to underpin their fraud, they brought several safes who were supposedly filled with cash for buying a house. During a home tour, they even “turned out” a five -digit amount of money from one of the safes to show the victim that their history was credible.

But the certificate is deceptive! The fraudsters tried to convince the victim that they did not have enough cash to get the money in the safes. They asked the seller to make a large sum of his own money available to "turn out" the safes and thus to pay the purchase price for the property. But the property owner looks through the plan and informed the police in good time.

In a clever move, the seller initially approved the scam's project and agreed to follow. The three men were finally arrested at this meeting. The police ensured several safes, but they were only filled with counterfeit money. At the request of the Trier public prosecutor's office, custody was ordered and the investigation continues.
