Friendship for over 70 years: Reymann visits Sarbourg!

The Mayor of Saarburg, Andreas Reymann, visited the French partner city of Sarrbourg on Wednesday, October 9th. This was a first official meeting, which in particular aimed to consolidate and deepen the friendship between the two cities for over 70 years.

During his visit, Reymann from Dr. Alain Marty, the mayor of Sarbourg, as well as the deputy Camille Zieger and Bernadette Panizzi. The delegation had the opportunity to get to know the city administration better and to visit important premises such as the wedding room, the meeting room and the mayor's office.

A significant part of the program was the visit to the local museum, which presents the Celtic and Roman past of the region. The exhibition was supplemented by impressive wall carpets and a current special exhibition that deals with the last building in Sarrbourg. Another cultural highlight was the tour of Marc Chagall's window in the Cordelier's Chapelle, the most famous sight of the city. Dr. Alain Marty explained to the guests the creation of this work of art, which is considered a masterpiece of art and craftsmanship.

In the afternoon, Reymann and his companions had the opportunity to visit the new sports and judo hall of the city of Sarrbourg. During this visit, the group was even able to take part in a judo course, which offered a practical insight into the city's sporting activities.

In an interview with the regional daily Républicain Lorrain, Reymann emphasized the significance of the long-term partnership between Saarburg and Sarrbourg and emphasized the role of Franco-German friendship. "I actively campaign for the continuation of this friendship and would like to enrich it with new ideas," says Reymann.

During a subsequent work discussion, specific project ideas were discussed taking into account all aspects of history, sports, youth, culture and families. A working group of employees of both cities will soon deal with the further design of these ideas. Reymann thanked the representatives of the twin city for the friendly reception and the fertile suggestions that he could take from this visit.
