An exciting finish! The women's league team TuS Heiligenstein rapidly shaken the first defeat of the season with a narrow 27:27 win at SG Lambsheim/Frankenthal on Sunday. On the hunt for victory, the Römerberg women showed that they are hungry for more, while the competition like HSG Dudenhofen/Schifferstadt and HSG Lingenfeld/Schwegenheim still stays close on their heels.
The start was anything but what Heiligenstein had hoped for. With 0: 2 they quickly fell behind, and the gap grew to 2: 6. But the unshakable Lisa-Marie Steffens came up! With a magnificent balance to 9: 9 in the 21st minute, she brought the team back into play. In an impressive effort, Heiligenstein seven goals in a row - madness! With a 14:10 lead, it was half time and Hanna Heinrich made sure that the distance grew to 16:10, which was the biggest lead of the game.

But the fighting spirit of SG Lambsheim/Frankenthal was unbroken! Despite the deficit, they could not be discouraged and came up to a goal. Even the 25:20 lead of the Heiligensteiner in the 49th minute could not reduce the pressure. Michelle Naas, freshly married and full of energy, was again the top scorer of her team with impressive 8 goals. In the end it remained exciting to the final siren - a true handball thriller!
