Senior festival in Römerberg: An afternoon full of joy and cosiness!

A magnificent afternoon full of music, fun and warm discussions experienced 185 seniors in Römerberg in the Mechtersheim school gymnasium! An invitation from the local community ensured a welcome change in the everyday life of the older generation. Andy Fauré heated up the mood with his music program, while the comedian Kättl Feuerdaach provided a loud laugh. A day that welded the seniors together far away from routine and obligations!

The inspiring atmosphere was noticeable - the youngest, Yasmine Babinger, just 19 years old, was with joy! "I think it's really cool," enthused the prospective administrative clerk, who was invited to the event by the Girls Day. Their commitment to reception showed how much the youth and seniors can come together. "The seniors are really super nice here!" - According to Babinger, who was happy about the warm encounters.

Jung meets old - a successful exchange

Deputy Franz Zirker (CDU) praised the initiative to exchange the traditional bus trip for this convivial afternoon. "This is more flexible for people!" Said Zirker, who emphasized the importance of together. Many seniors could no longer travel due to health restrictions, so this new form of gathering is an excellent solution.

The event was not only a thank you, but also a fine culinary journey: Caterer Georgi Valkov spoiled the guests with a delicious multi-course menu, and the delicious coffee and cake rounded off the successful afternoon. Among the oldest guests was Otto Haaf (94) from Berghausen, in addition to the 97-year-old women Hilde Füger and Friedel Neumann from Mechtersheim. A true festival for the senses and the coexistence in the community, which is undoubtedly remembered!
