Frankenthal, Deutschland - graffiti art at the bus station: Siblings Nickles bring color into play!
At the bus station in Frankenthal it will be colorful! The creative siblings Felix and Maja Nickles have launched an impressive work of art with their graffito "Frankenthal Auf Zug", which is supposed to spice up the waiting area on the bus. Thursday was the big day when Felix shook the spray can to design the wooden wall with lively colors. The first lines he pulled quickly turned into tracks, while the lettering "F-R-A" was incorporated into the wall as if a train was going on!
"Frankenthal on the train" is the result of an online competition, initiated by Mayor Nicolas Meyer, who wants to make the station environment more attractive. The jury was enthusiastic about the design, which not only picks up the city's history, but also with creative elements such as a lion, "Miss Strohhut" and even an alien for diversity. With this graffito, the siblings brought a piece of home to the heart and show that art and community can go hand in hand.
a work of art in the creation
The formation of graffiti can be followed live in the coming days. Passers -by are welcome to watch, take photos and share their experiences on social media. Felix, who works as a comic artist and director, and Maja, who is active as a saxophonist and producer, are happy about the positive feedback from the audience. "I'm happy when people are happy," says Felix, while driving on the spray. The colors are weatherproof and were sponsored generously.
The work of art should be completed in a week. Felix takes over the draw while Maja turns the making-of video. But the two have even more ideas: Maja thinks about making the graffito shine at night - perhaps with special lighting or fluorescent colors. A creative duo that enriches the city of Frankenthal with its art!
