Frankenthal shines: Christmas market starts on November 25th!
The city administration promises a festival for the senses with tempting delicacies such as hot mulled wine, hearty and sweet crepes as well as crispy grated cakes that are offered around the majestic Christmas tree. This magnificent tree, proud 15 meters high, comes from the garden of the spacious donor Lisa Börstler. Mayor Nicolas Meyer will open the market on Monday, November 25th, at 6 p.m. Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium.
weekly market and changes in traffic
But that's not all! The weekly market will be partially relocated from November 19 to December 27th. The dealers will build their stands in the train station, August Bebel, the Wormser and Speyerer Straße. On New Year's Eve, the market returns to Rathausplatz. On market days, Wormser Straße is fully blocked from 1 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Another highlight: A festive program is presented on the covered stage in front of the Erkenbert Museum. The Erkenbernbrunnen on Rathausplatz has already been covered, and the Frankenthal daycare centers design an advent calendar with shining handicrafts. The special exhibition "Porcelain? Wessel!" remains open. But the big disappointment remains: the ice rink will not be built this year because no operator has found itself. A little glimmer of hope remains, because maybe this wish will still be true!
